How much does a backyard putting green cost?
- Many variables determine the cost. Ingress and egress, drainage, do sprinklers and landscaping need to be moved and is the ground level? Next, how will the green be used? If it is for a small space to putt, it requires less materials and labor to build so it’s less expensive, typically $22 to $25 a square foot. If chipping from across the yard is desired, it requires more base material, padding and labor so the cost is a little more, typically from $25 a square foot and up. The further the chip or approach shot, the larger the green needs to be. We’ve built greens that will hold a shot from 200+ yards.
How long will my putting green or artificial turf last?
- Putting greens that we installed over 19 years ago, still look and perform as new. Each come with a 15-year manufacturer’s warranty and a 1-year labor and workmanship warranty.
Will I save money by installing artificial turf instead of natural grass?
- Typically, yes. Our greens are low maintenance and require no mowing, edging, harsh chemicals, or watering. With the City of Houston raising water bills by 40% over the next 4 years, the savings will continue to grow. Artificial turf is great in shady areas and looks great all year long.
What is the difference in a putting green built with nylon or polypropylene?
- When installed properly, greens built with polypropylene are sand filled and perform like a PGA putting green. The stimp speed can be adjusted and will last years longer. Greens built with nylon turf are typically not sand filled and stimp speed can’t be adjusted. Without the sand infill nylon turf tends to move over time.
How well does artificial turf drain?
- Artificial turf drains as well or better than natural grass. Our turf is perforated for good drainage, and we install the base material with drainage in mind. Our irrigation specialists can design a solution for problem areas.
Is artificial turf safe for pets.
- We’ve installed over 50,000 sq. ft. of our PG&T Pet Turf at pet facilities and dog runs. Not only do pets love it but it’s easy to clean.
Can you build a custom putting green on my ranch?
- We’ve built many ranch greens. Some with multiple greens, large sand bunkers and t-boxes. We’ve also installed Tif Bermuda fairways, irrigation, and landscaping for multi-green golf courses.
Do you repair or maintain putting greens and turf installed by other installers?
- We will maintain, repair, or replace a putting green or turf regardless of who installed it.
Do you offer a maintenance service?
- For a low monthly fee,
- We will refresh your putting green or turf annually to keep it performing like new. Service includes clean, make repairs, add sand as needed, brush and roll.
Do you have a design service?
- We’ll take your ideas and make an architectural rendering showing shape, size, slope, and hole locations.
Can you landscape my yard?
- We’ve been in the landscape business for 35 years. No project is too big.
